Around the Table Homemaking Zine #1
Around the Table Homemaking Zine #1
When I got wind that my beloved local library had started a special Zine library, I knew I wanted to contribute something! As I browsed the many unique offerings in the Zine library, I was impressed with the depth of personal perspectives and niche knowledge that people felt compelled to to share. Titles that caught my eye spanned from Personal Finance to The Virtues and Uses of Fruits, Seeds, Flowers and Juices, to The Burning Life: Witches and Radical Feminists, to A Convict’s Guide to Starting Over. I guess what Walt Whitman said is true, “I am Large, I contain Multitudes”, a Zine rack is a great place to test that statement.
You know something means something to you when you want to write about it. For several years I have worked away at an opus dedicated to my soul’s metier; homemaking. Part notes, part practicalities, part seasonal calendar, and part pleasures, chronicling the creation of mood and atmosphere, systems and methods relating to family and home life.
So when it came to producing a Zine, it was obvious what my niche offering would be. I hope to produce additional volumes with other homemaking themes as time goes on.
Around the Table is a 6 page booklet sharing practical ideas to make family meal time a beloved ritual instead of a stressful encounter. It includes a worksheet intended to be Xeroxed and used many times for weekly meal planning and a companion grocery shopping list on the reverse side.
Upon placing your order, you will be able to download and print Around the Table.
When printing, make sure to select "short-edge binding" instead of "long-edge binding - to ensure that the back side is not flipped upside down.
Special thanks for the wonderful Tess Rubinstein for the design and layout for this project.
